Lemony Snicket’s new children’s book, The Dark, illustrated by Jon Klassen, comes out today. It’s about a kid who’s afraid of the dark. The trailer is great.

Do you know what’s also great? The interview we did with Lemony Snicket (otherwise known as Daniel Handler) a few months back. He talked about “proud Snicket tradition of a reassurance that dark things are, in fact, there. … That a terrible thing can happen at any moment, and it is up to you to persevere through it.” I liked that.

Aren’t we all just kids who are afraid of the dark?

Yesterday CC the sloth (from Staten Island zoo) and I went on the Today show to promote my book, A LITTLE BOOK OF SLOTH. I was nervous that the studio would freak her out but she seemed to love all the attention. Especially when the make up girls combed her hair so she looked all pretty for the show.
